This week’s spotlight

This week we would like to conduct a close analysis of a nice entry-level position for the agency based in Cologne for an Administrative Assistant (FG III). The full notice can be found on EASA’s website.

We wanted to highlight this position because the scope of the vacancy is quite broad. We hope more of our readers will be able to fit the wide profile.

EASA is known for using original terminology, but the critical elements are listed under “accountabilities” (more commonly referred to as Selection Criteria in EU circuit) and “professional skills”. Make sure that you list references to the professional skills they are asking for.

Examples from previous jobs are very useful in such a case. It is advisable to reference specific outcomes (for example “increased sales by 60%” than simply saying “I increased sales considerably”).

A word from our team

Recently we wrote about the country coefficient. The salary coefficient is an important factor in determining the basic salary of EU civil servants. It helps to ensure that employees are compensated fairly and competitively, regardless of their location. The coefficient is calculated using a complex formula that takes into account the cost of living in different locations.

To make your life easier, we created a map showing you the comparison of coefficients between various EU countries (as of 2023). With Belgium/Luxembourg set at 100% (or a score of 10 on the map below). The darker the green, the higher the coefficient.
