We published a new guide explaining a little bit more on the topic of household allowance in the EU civil service. What is it? In addition to their basic salary, depending on family situation, temporary/contract staff may be entitled to the household allowance. One allowance per household of 2% of basic salary + 201,15 EUR (amount as from 01.01.2022). If married without dependent children, the household allowance may be granted if the income of the spouse stays below a set threshold (this is revised on an annual basis). We would like to take the opportunity to more closely analyze the vacancy notice for IT Officer FGIII in CINEA. The full notice can be found here. From the entire text, the most critical aspects for any applicant are listed under -
Essential Selection criteria
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience acquired in positions related to the profile of the post.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online with their content administration.
• Knowledge of videoconferencing tools.
• Very good command of the English language in the technical fields concerned.Advantageous Selection criteria
• Good interpersonal, communication, problem solving skills and user-oriented approach and behaviour.
• Experience of working in a multi-cultural and international environment.
• Experience in promoting technology platforms and systems to end-users.
• Experience in Windows Server and/or Linux administration.
• Self-service software management (e.g., no code/Power Apps or similar).
One (slightly less common element) in the eligibility criteria is the requirement for a CAST credential: “Eligibility criteria - Have successfully passed a CAST in the function group for which you are applying* OR be registered in a CAST Permanent Call for Expression of Interest in function group FGIII by the deadline for application of the current vacancy**”.
