The European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) is recruiting audit experts to join the EU civil service as administrators at grade AD7, with successful candidates drawn from a reserve list and placed across EU institutions, bodies, and agencies. To be eligible, applicants must be EU nationals with full citizen rights, hold a university degree followed by five to seven years of relevant professional experience (of which at least four years must be specifically in audit), and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of one official EU language (C1) and a satisfactory knowledge of another (B2). The selection process consists of online reasoning tests, a field-related test, and a free-text essay on EU matters, with candidates free to sit these in any two of the 24 official EU languages. The application deadline is 19 May 2026 at 12:00 midday Brussels time, and you can apply here: https://eu-careers.europa.eu/en/apply-audit-competition-ad7.

This April 18th marked 75 years since the signing of the Treaty of Paris — the founding moment that set the European Union in motion, beginning with just six countries agreeing to share their coal and steel industries in the aftermath of World War II. That bold experiment in cooperation eventually grew into the EU we know today, complete with the institutions that now employ thousands of civil servants — including the European Commission, the Council, and the Court of Justice, all of which trace their roots back to that 1951 treaty. If you're dreaming of an EU career, you'd be joining an institution with a remarkable origin story — one built on the idea that shared structures make conflict "not merely unthinkable, but materially impossible."
