The European Fisheries Control Agency (EFCA) is recruiting a Project Assistant (Function Group III, Grade 8) to support projects combating illegal fishing in West and Central Africa and the Western Indian Ocean, offering a contract agent position based in Vigo, Spain. The three advantageous criteria that could strengthen your application are: professional experience working with regions external to the EU in fisheries monitoring, control and surveillance (MCS) within the scope of such projects; experience in acquiring and analyzing satellite imagery (including Synthetic Aperture Radar and optical imagery) for fisheries operational planning; and knowledge of French and/or Portuguese at B2 level or higher. The position requires at least three years of professional experience in fisheries MCS activities and may include missions lasting more than a week aboard patrol vessels. Applications must be submitted by January 12, 2026 at 23:59 Brussels time.
