The European Banking Authority is inviting recent graduates to apply for its 2026 traineeship in the Economic & Risk Analysis Department in Paris, offering hands-on experience in financial stability analysis, EU banking regulation, stress testing, and policy research. Particularly advantageous are candidates with (1) knowledge of quantitative tools such as econometrics, statistics, or data analysis software, (2) familiarity with EU financial regulation or banking supervision, and (3) strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills in an international environment. Applications close on 20 May 2026 at 12:00 noon (Paris time).

A word from our team

The EU’s new Entry/Exit System (EES), designed to modernize border security with biometric checks for non-EU travelers, is currently creating major disruption across Schengen airports—with long queues, missed flights, and mounting pressure on airlines and border authorities. While the system could make EU travel more secure and efficient long term, early implementation problems highlight the operational challenges of joining or working within EU structures, where policy changes can have immediate real-world impacts. We anticipate an uptick of vacancies in the relevant EU body (eu-LISA).
