This week’s spotlight

🎅 We published a new article on our website, but who are we kidding - it’s almost Christmas time! So let’s just take it easy, there are only two vacancies closing this week 😉 Even the EP is staff will get an extra day of holiday this Christmas, after Secretary-General Alessandro Chiocchetti informed officials that offices will be closed on Tuesday 23 December. EU institutions will be closed from 24 December until 2 January anyway, so Happy Holidays from all of us at nextEUjob! ⛄️🎄
📖 The full library of articles we have published has really grown over the years and it can be difficult to locate exactly what you’re looking for. But our nextEUjob’s AI assistant is malfunctioning - does this mean we’ve been guilty of overhyping AI ourselves? ☹️

A word from our team

Following up on the news from last week, Renouveau & Démocratie, one of the EU’s largest staff unions, has issued an open letter criticizing top EU diplomat Kaja Kallas for her handling of the EEAS scandal. Employees described Kallas’ recent town hall as a “year-end exercise” that didn’t reflect the seriousness of the situation, highlighting a perceived gap between leadership and staff concerns. The union is calling for stronger ethical safeguards, enhanced whistleblower protections, and clearer accountability measures. 😲
✍️ If there is a publicly documented issue you would like us to highlight to all our readers, we’d be grateful for your tip. Simply reply to this email. 💙 Merci!

Supporting nextEUjob

We currently pay all expenses related to this project out of our own pocket. If you wish to support us in our mission, you can do so by donating a small sum towards our monthly costs. That way maybe we can afford a proper AI assistant and not the freemium version that seems to be broken now 😕
Yours faithfully,
