As always, the full list of EU vacancies closing in the next seven days is at the bottom of this email.
This week’s spotlight

📑The European Court of Auditors recently published their annual activity report for 2024. Their findings related to EU agencies are:
Overall, our audit of the agencies confirmed the results reported in previous years. We issued “clean opinions” on the 43 agencies’ accounts and on their revenues. We signed off the payments underlying all the agencies’ accounts, except for the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), the European Labour Authority (ELA), the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), and the European Union Agency for the Operational Management of Large-Scale IT Systems in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice (eu-LISA). We issued a qualified opinion for these four agencies due to the irregular payments we found, mainly in relation to irregularities in procurement procedures, contract implementation, or grants.
Irregularities in agency payments can indicate high pressure and ambitious deadlines for staff related to Finance and Accounting, which results in errors. At the same time, every crisis is also an opportunity - experienced EU professionals in these fields will be reluctant to apply for openings in these agencies. Which can be a chance for an external applicant, but do enter with caution! 😟

A word from our team

⬆️ Court of Auditors findings are one of the few ways you can get information about agencies as an external candidate without any contacts in the specific EU body. As we mentioned in one of our articles, the ECA findings are a good source of information. They generally review all the activities of an EU body, but their primary focus is on the financial elements (procurement, contract management, grants).
If you work for an EU body and have experience with the ECA audit or are employed directly by ECA - get in touch with us! We would like to draft an article on a typical EU agency audit.🙂
The following EU vacancies will close in the coming week
⏰Remember that while vacancy deadlines generally close at 23:59, some do so at 12:00 - noon. Check the specific vacancy notice for the exact time
