💰️ Our latest article looks at the salary evolution in the EU civil service from 2023 to 2024.

All grades saw a uniform basic salary increase of about 7.2%, from entry-level (Grade 5) through Senior Management (Grade 16), plus similar hikes in various allowances.
Correction coefficients — which adjust salaries to reflect cost of living in different duty stations — saw notable decreases in many countries (e.g. Hungary, Czechia, Ireland), while Sweden saw a slight increase.
Contract agents also benefited from meaningful salary rises across grades, improving their compensation in line with those in standard function groups.

🤑 It looks like we have a finance themed newsletter this week! Politico wrote an article about the European School issues in Frankfurt. Many children of EU staff are forced to attend an overcrowded European School which was originally built for around 900 pupils but now hosts more than double that number. The cramped conditions, including use of storage rooms as classrooms and insufficient infrastructure pose health, safety and wellbeing risks for the pupils, but naturally also weigh heavily on parents working in EU institutions! 😲
